From the media point of view,

Its implementation if properly managed should reduce inflation and curtail the illicit act of money laundering in the country. Over time monetary watchers have been of the opinion that a reduction in the huge cash manually transacted in the country could lead to a reduction in inflation rate. From my point of view

1.       This cashless policy would reduce the rate of armed robbery attack to individuals; of course armed robbers would know that individuals don’t carry cash at hand anymore. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t say it will eliminate armed robbery, I said alleviate.

2.      This cashless policy will save me money when buying products involving less than N5. Nowadays most supermarket sell goods for example at N98,N56, N99. Saving those petty naira is a good bargain for me.

3.      I can comfortably buy the exact  amount of fuel that fills my fuel tank(5044) online at www.fuelvoucher.com.ng at no extra cost  without having to the fuel station with cash, card or paper.

4.      I can comfortably transfer money across to other bank accounts even on weekends. I can comfortably fuel the car of people far away from me with www.fuelvoucher.com.ng at no extra cost.

But then again?

16 Year Old Girl Caged By Her Parents In Bayelsa Due to Convulsion

I was reading through Channels News when i saw this report of a 16 year old girl who had beeN caged for three years because she is convulsive. 

To think it is a place where he stores his old and worn out property would not be out of place, as it was haphazardly built with wood and carton on what could be seen as a semi refuse dump site. It was a feeling of shock when Channels Television realised that it was not for keeping his generator or other items but where his 16-year old daughter, Blessing Olokumo, had called home for almost three years.

Blessing is the 6th out of the 16 children of Mr and Mrs Olokumo; a twin who has no relationship with her twin sister, not because her twin sister was dead. she is simply ashamed of being associated with her. She is not leprous, neither is she affected by any contagious disease. She is just a child who had convulsion when she was three years old and was not properly monitored by the medical doctors, so instead of outgrowing it as most children of her age would probably have done, she has since been battling with the condition.

One would expect her parents to be sympathetic to her plight and treat her with more care and attention, but the reverse has been the case, as Blessing is being treated with utmost disdain by those who are supposed to love her more. She has been tagged the evil child, accused of being responsible for the death of her immediate siblings who were also twin girls. She has been abandoned by her parents in a cage for almost three years and left to God to decide her fate.

LAGBUS offers free Bus Ride to Lagosians

'The Lagos State Government through LAGBUS will provide free bus rides to residents on Easter Monday, April 21'. The LAGBUS Public Relations  Officer, Mrs Oluyemi Junaid, announced.

This is to promote the use of public transportation, as well as reduce congestion on Lagos roads on the day,’’
 

She said that the free bus rides were also to celebrate the annual Lagos Carnival, tagged LASGIDI, which coincided with Easter Monday.

According to the statement, the rides will be provided on all LAGBUS routes across the metropolis, between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.

The Managing Director of LAGBUS, Mr. Babatunde Disu, urged residents to be careful and moderate, in order to ensure a hitch-free celebration. 

Gov. Babatunde Fashola urged travelers and residents to be alert and vigilant at motor parks and to be proactive to raise alarm on suspicious characters and situations.

"If you see something unusual, say something," he said.
