What matters is the Gesture

Most often times people are more concerned about the quantity or quality of gifts they receive but what really matters is the gesture and the thought. This however does not mean we should take advantage of this and keep giving silly gifts to people.

Realistically, When someone hands you a gift think of the following before quantifying the gift.

1. The person recalled its an occasion important to you.
2. If there is no occasion, it means the person saw a gift and thought 'this will be nice for him/her'. So the person actually took some time to think of you.
3. Consider the fact that the person must have struggled thinking whats best to buy before he/she arrived at that final gift.

So before you look down or judge, think of all the processes involved in getting you the gift before sizing it up.

Finally your judgment may be based on the extent of relationship you have with the person, so you may do well to judge.
